"Ooof as always in a rush, this is probably the weirdest I've got with my entries probably because I was running out of time and I had to mix a bunch of really different ideas. . .

The mixing could definitely be better, the ending should be a little louder and some elements are still unbalanced. . ."

You say these things, yet you win these competitions with relative ease, like it's nothing at all, lol. You were upheld as a virtuoso amongst the underdogs, kicking the crap outta most of us, so hey...despite the late turn-ins and thinking your arrangement is terrible in one way or another, you're not struggling with finding an audience and beating even the best / fiercest musicians out there.

I suppose, take solace in that and your natural talents, cause many others wouldn't be able to pull off such cool stuff in no time and with 'mistakes'.

Also, this tune sounds lovely, nonetheless...

Santi-Montali responds:

First of all, thanks! Idk guess I just can't avoid it, it's second nature hehe. I'm aware of how annoying it can be having someone say their stuff is bad over and over again so that's something for me to work on! Appreciate the comment :)

Indeed, catchy. ^_^ *Vibes* Kinda is VHS-y. Makes me also think of a theme for going into a shop to buy power-ups and stuff in a beat-em-up game, like Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game.

Fun times. XD 4/5 stars :D

Diggin' the arps and synths. It's a bit 80's-esque in nature, with some of the synthwave. I can definitely see this in a cyberpunk or Hotline Miami-style nightclub. Actually, come to think of it after watching a close friend play the game, kinda gives me the same vibe the new Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack does. So I can defo see this being used in a 2D sidescroller, beat-em-up game.

Good stuff. I look forward to hearing more of this kind of stuff in the future. :)

HoboKa responds:

Thanks for taking the time to comment and score UwU...yeah it does kinda vibe as Streets of Rage 4 de sei.

Man...this actually hit me in the metaphorical balls worth of goodly nostalgia. God I loved both the (what was a critical failure) of the Nemo animated movie (which I am pretty sure was done by the studio that basically became Studio Ghibli before they became famous) and the old NES adventure. Dream 5: Nemo's House was one of my favorites of the OST, next to Dream 4: the Night Sea and Dream 7: the Topsy-Turvy Ballroom. Those and Nightmare Land were banging for me as a kid... Damn, if I had the rock n' roll chops I would do a Dream 8: Nightmare Land heavy metal remix!

That said, this is actually pretty damned good and sadly too short for me. And yeah, it does start to sound a bit like a sea shanty towards the end. xD Love it. 5/5 from me. :)

Sadly, I never got to play any of the Phantasy Star series, but I'm really digging this remix. I'll have to look into Zio's theme, but his theme and general character reminds me of Kefka from FFVI--similar vein of hating his guts by the end and him having a fairly famous boss theme that stuck with me ever since the first time I heard it on my first playthrough.

Bass and drums felt a bit weak to me. Could've stayed on the low-end, softer side from the beginning but by the midsection to the end I felt they could've gotten a bit more bombastic and louder (without overwhelming the entire piece). Other than that, solid remix worth listening to. :)

HoboKa responds:

Probably the bass sample overpowering everything...Thanks for the feedback. [edit]

Mmmm...love me some Soul Blazer-trilogy music...

But, damn son, ya' got me here. It's funny, it's groovy, and I love the lyrics.

...

Do more shit like this, pretty please? >_>; ♥

BTW, glad it got frontpaged!!! :D ...Better than me, anyways. xD Ain't a damn thing of mine has been yet, lol. So congrats!

HoboKa responds:

You'll get there, provided you have the drive. I believe in you :D

I might do more collabs, but...I lost my mojo T_T

Niceeeeeeeeee~!

Hadn't played a whole lot of KH2, and it's been years since I touched the game, but this is a sick remix. This is defo-you at the height of your game. Keep improving and keep on fighting the good fight, (also, FWIW, this is the kind of thing I'd recommend trying your luck, if you wanted to anyways, to yeet at those ol' OCR judges again and see if they like it. I think with a bit more scrutiny, EQ and volume adjustment, it'd be a banger worthy of getting in the OC library.) :)

Welp, I literally had to look up who the hell Winky was...and then found out that was the Frog Animal Buddy's name!!! ...I had no clue! XD And I played a lot of DKC 1, 2 and 3 back in the day!

Anyways, nice drums and percussion, nice faithful rendition, cool synths. Real smooth. Drums and bass were a bit too thumpy and loud and IDK, to me, could've used a bit more attack, but otherwise, I really like this remix. :D Nice work. ^^

Hey there. :)

I like the song, but agree with the sentiment it's a bit awkward at the beginning up until the last 50 seconds or so. Really loud and overpowering, and could use a bit of EQ, but it's jamming. The beginning itself was weird. Probably would've replaced the weird kazoo-sound with another harp-like synth or something. Love the fade-out. Good work overall. :)

Good shit, as always. ♥ Makes me actually want to go play Corruption now! (I own it, but have yet to get through it all. D: )

I'll have to check out the OG song, too!
